PARNASSOS ENTERPRISES S.A. was established in 1934 under the corporate name "VLAHOUTSIKOS & CO S.A.". In 1941 the company was renamed to PARNASSOS REFRIGERATORS S.A. and in 1994 to PARNASSOS ENTERPRISES S.A. The company's duration was originally set for 30 years and was thereafter extended until 9/5/2024.
PARNASSOS ENTERPRISES S.A. was transformed to a holdings company following the secession of the industrial sector of the cool division (General Meeting Resolution on 11.27.1996, Government Gazette 137/1.13.1997).
According to the Shareholders' Extraordinary General Meeting resolution, the company's headquarters were transferred to 109-111 Mesogeion Avenue, Municipality of Athens. (Government Gazette 1448/2-18-2003).
The company is a Societe Anonyme registered in the Societe Anonymes Registry by the number 7705/06/B/86/132 and operates under Greek Legislation (Law 2190/20) and the relative Athens Stock Exchange and Capital Market Committee regulations.
The Company engages in:
1. the exploitation of privately owned refrigerators and ice factories as well as owned by third parties.
2. the establishment of other cool and ice factories, construction or purchase of mobile refrigerators, storage and distribution facilities as well as the acquisition of and exploitation of any kind of transportation means for the transportation of frozen and preserved materials, in Greece and abroad.
3. lending over pledged merchandise stored in the Company's refrigerators.
4. processing, modification, standardization, packaging and trading of frozen and other products.
5. trade, import and export of merchandise, the preservation of which requires storage in refrigerators, and also of any other product.
6. the establishment, participation in the establishment and any kind of participation in companies that resided in Greece or in other countries in the framework of the respective legislation whose object of activity will indicatively and not exclusively concern: a) the assumption, execution, exploitation and management of every kind of Public, Municipal, Private technical works and also the undertaking and execution of research study b) the erection of buildings and building complexes and their sale or exploitation, c) the erection or purchase or leasing and exploitation of Hotels, Casinos, Restaurants and in general Tourist Units and facilities and entertainment centers of any kind, d) leasing of Hotel Units and in general Tourist facilities including timeshare leasing according to Law 1652/1986, e) the organization or participation in the organization or mediation for conference organization, f) the commerce of personal computers and any kind of office equipment and of IT consumable and non consumable products and of related machinery and the production, commerce and exploitation of software programs, g) the commercial representation of domestic and foreign firms h) the commerce under any form of domestic or foreign material, machinery and tools, i) the establishment and exploitation of parking stations and of related facilities in the company’s self owned lots or lots hired from third parties, j) any kind of participation either by contributions, or acquisition of shares of other existing enterprises or companies under formation, domestic or foreign that engage in one or more of the above.
7. Investments in listed in the Stock Exchange or non listed company shares or in shares of Limited Liability Companies, and in participations in any other type of company.
8. Any other business related to the above.
9. For the accomplishment of its goals the Company may provide pledges in favor of companies and in general firms or joint ventures in which the Company participates or cooperates with in any form, providing any kind of security, contractual or collateral.
Already the company’s core business involve holdings investments as a holding company and continuous to be activate in this area of activity.
As of 12/31/2006 PARNASSOS S.A. participates in SEIRIOS S.A. with 95% stake as well as in the share capital of PARNASSOS REFRIGERATORS S.A. with 98.75%, currently in the final stage of liquidation, while it holds 6.607.910 shares of ATTI-KAT S.A. (8.094% stake).
The company is obliged to compile consolidated financial statements in which SEIRIOS S.A. is consolidated under the full consolidation method, participating with 95% (>50%).
